An authorised connector fetches the data and logs its source, licence, timestamp and a content checksum. No source is collected without prior verification of its terms.

2. Keep the raw
The original document is kept as is. A later correction can then be replayed from the source rather than guessed.
3. Normalise
Units, currencies, quantities and names are converted to a comparable form. The original value is always kept alongside the normalised one.
4. Resolve identity
A valid GTIN identifies a variant. A name alone is never enough: below the confidence threshold, the case goes to human review rather than automatic merging.
5. Attach the company
The product is linked to the canonical company registry. If the company isn't there yet, a record is created with its provenance; it is never silently duplicated.
6. Publish with its evidence
The fact becomes visible along with its source, observation date and method. The previous value isn't erased: it joins the history.
