What Sannmerk is, and what it isn't.

Sannmerk is a public registry of Canadian consumer products. We aggregate official sources — Health Canada's Drug Product Database (DPD) and the Natural Health Products Database (LNHPD) — and expose them through a single canonical identifier (GTIN, DIN or NPN). We do not modify the source data. Every record is linked back to its origin via the licence attribution. Sannmerk is operated by Northken Inc., a Canadian company incorporated in 2026.

How to cite Sannmerk

In published articles, please cite the canonical URL of the product (e.g. https://sannmerk.com/product/<slug>) and the source licence (DPD or LNHPD). For aggregate statistics, cite the API endpoint or the sitemap.

Methodology summary

We ingest official sources on a daily cadence, validate regulatory identifiers (DIN, NPN, GTIN) with check-digit verification, deduplicate by canonical_name + brand, and link observed prices to the source retailer. We do not infer or extrapolate. If a product has no observed price, we say so explicitly.

Embargoed releases and corrections

We do not issue embargoed releases. All data on Sannmerk is public from the moment it is published. If you spot an error in our data, write to [email protected] and we will correct the upstream source if needed, usually within 5 business days.
